Meet the inspirational 15-year-old who makes a habit of beating the odds
SAMUEL Bell - who was not expected to survive beyond three months - will present the Daily Record Little Hero Awards in May.
PRESENTING this year’s Little Hero award at Our Heroes in May will be a watershed moment for Samuel Bell.
As the Daily Record’s first Little Hero in 2004, it was hard for his mum Sharon or dad Marty to imagine a future for Samuel.
Doctors never expected the 15-year-old to survive beyond three months and it was considered a miracle he had lived long enough to start primary school.
So for him to still be here 10 years later is extraordinary but the humble teenager, from Knightswood, Glasgow, is simply delighted to be given the chance to present the award to another brave and inspiring child.
Samuel said: “Being named the first Little Hero was amazing, something I have never forgotten.
“It is something that has stayed with me and made me determined to do more with my life.
